Alfred Hitchcock shot short scenes from “The Pleasure Garden” a 1925 silent film in Alassio.

Vittorio De Sica shot here some sequences (mostly on the beach and the railway) of his 1943 film “I Bambini Ci Guardano”.

In 1958, the English oscar-winning director Guy Green, filmed in Alassio his thriller “The Snorkel”, with recognizable shots of Punta Murena Beach, Gallinara Island, the Alassio town hall and the Hotel Europa & Concordia.

Although it is a B-movie, and unfortunately in black and white, Green’s movie is undoubtedly the one where you can see more shots of Alassio.

In 1995, Carlo Vanzina directed here a few scenes from the comedy “Io No Spik Nnglish”, starring Paolo Villaggio. Finally, in 2008, some sequences for the fantasy movie “Inkheart” by Iain Softley (starring Brendan Fraser, Andy Serkis, Helen Mirren and Jimmy Broadbent) were shot in Alassio.
